I offer Movement Therapy for all seasons of womanhood. You’ll have the space to free up your body and emotions, the tools to naturally support any ailments, and the joy of feeling yourself again.

Movement Therapy

As humans, we were born to move. And yet we are leading increasingly sedentary lives, which is causing dysfunction in our body’s systems, be it our hormones, metabolism, digestion, immune, or musculoskeletal health. My aim is to make movement a part of your daily life (not just an hour here and there!), so that you can overcome your ailments naturally, and enjoy the freedom and vitality that movement brings.

1:1 sessions are bespoke to specific ailments women might experience. Whether you’re struggling with musculoskeletal pain, hormonal imbalances, infertility, menstrual pain, endometriosis, or menopausal symptoms, we will tailor bespoke movements and exercises that can become part of your daily routine and recovery.

My signature Barre&Baby classes help mothers reconnect with themselves emotionally, and strengthen themselves physically. We work on shoulder mobility, upper body broadening, pelvis and hip strengthening, knee and feet support, etc.

I can also offer classes and workshops for adolescence, fertility, menopause, etc. Please get in touch to discuss what’s possible.

A unique and powerful combination of reflexology and movement work. Based on your area of dysfunction, we’ll first stimulate a specific organ or system through reflexology, then ‘free up’ that area through movement. This allows us to work in a deep and targeted way for optimal results.

  • From both a physical and mental point of view, dance can be strengthening and liberating.

    Every step of Barre&Baby has been designed to improve pregnancy and postnatal wellbeing. By involving everything from fingers to toes, we’re aiming to create space, improve circulation, strengthen the body and increase flexibility. Greater body awareness leads to better posture and alignment (crucial to avoiding aches and pains) and empowers mums to trust their body’s signals (so useful during pregnancy and birth!).

    Barre&Baby can provide powerful benefits for the mind too. As you concentrate on our dance steps, you’ll find yourself entering a sort of meditation in movement, while activating the release of endorphins (the ‘feel-good’ hormones), boosting energy levels and uplifting your spirit.

    By keeping your baby close, sharing breaths and emotions, you’ll create a deeper bond that will last a lifetime. We find babies often fall sleep as they move with their mum’s body, bathed in the sounds of classical music, making each class a special time to yourself (and as a mother of 3, I know how important this is!).

    Finally, as the saying goes: “meet someone while dancing means meeting them in their soul”. Many friendships are born on the dance floor, and our students tell us Barre&Baby classes are a wonderful way to make new friends.

  • By staying so close to you, your baby develops a sense of security and protection. Our soothing and relaxing music transmits positive feelings and supports your baby’s sensory development. The vestibular system (the part of the inner ear that helps coordinate movement with balance) is stimulated by your own movements as you dance, and your baby’s cardiac system grows stronger as a result of the workout.

  • It depends on the reason for working together. In some occasions only a couple of sessions will be required, in other we will schedule a longer programme.

  • When I started reflexology, the aim was to go beyond what movement couldn’t reach. Reflexology allows us to target specific organs and systems of the body through reflex points on the hands and feet. The synergy of reflexology and movement strengthens the therapeutic benefits of each for optimal results.

    Let's look at dysmenorrhea for example (painful menstrual periods). Recent studies have found that people suffering with primary dysmenorrhea (i.e not linked with other body pathologies like endometriosis), also experience decreased blood flow to their uterus and main arteries.

    We would use reflexology to work on releasing tension around the pelvis area, and stimulating blood flow and nerve response. We would then use local musculoskeletal movement influence vasodilation and blood flow to these areas.
